Ariel Gail
Prof. Gail S. Goodman holds the distinguished chair in psychology within the University of California Davis and is the director of its Center for Public Policy Research. She is widely acknowledged for her pioneering the science of the eyewitness memory of children and utilizing child victims to be legal witnesses. Professor Goodman is a prolific writer and has been awarded numerous awards and grants. She has advised numerous government agencies and governments around the world about policies and research relating to the treatment of child victims in the justice system. She is an expert consultant to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center) of the Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is a fellow of several professional organizations, such as the Association for Psychological Science and the American Psychological Association (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice American Psychology Law Society Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 56). Professor Goodman is part of Psychonomics Society, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children as a Founding Member of the International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She is the former President of the American Psychological Association Divisions for Child and Family Policy as well as Practice Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology.
